Session Samples That Respect Privacy and Still Teach
Session review is powerful for understanding hesitation. It also requires clear boundaries so your team learns without exposing people unnecessarily.
Watching how someone moves through a booking or checkout flow can reveal pauses that aggregate charts flatten. The same practice can cross lines if masking, access, and purpose are vague.
Agree in advance which fields are masked, who may watch recordings, and how long samples are retained. Treat that agreement as part of the engagement, not an afterthought.
When you sample, bias toward the journeys under review rather than “interesting” outliers. Outliers make memorable stories; representative friction makes better product decisions.
In readouts, describe patterns with counts and ranges. Quote rare individual moments only when they illustrate a pattern already visible in the wider set.
